What to do right now is so complicated. If we keep all the fossil fuels in the ground, we can't heat our homes this winter because we needed to start building massive infrastructure for solar, wind, and tidal energy about 50 years ago. I think just keep breathing and staying in touch with the present and loving the people around us and helping in all the little ways we can for our own mental health might be the best we can do. I wrote about the complexity of it all on Earth Day (https://apuffofabsurdity.blogspot.com/2023/04/earth-day-53-simple-solutions.html) and a scrambly post a few days ago, unnerved by it all, about what on earth do we teach the kids (http://apuffofabsurdity.blogspot.com/2023/06/teaching-in-face-of-bleak-future.html). I waver between screaming into the void on Covid mitigations and climate change - it helps keep me sane to get it all on the outside of me.
